Hiking in the Gladiator fields

Meeting point in Sant'Agnese square in Montepulciano at 9 a.m. then short van transfer to Pienza, about 15 minutes driving distance.
Leaving the town at our back we start the excursion in the heart of Val d'Orcia, following a panoramic path.It is a ring itinerary that touch some of the iconic sites of the valley, included the isolated Vitaleta church in the San Quirico d'Orcia area.

• Hiking distance:10 km (6miles) for 3/4 hours of easy hike in gravel roads and paths.
• Visit of the village of Pienza, the city of Pope Pius II, kingdom of pecorino cheese
• Visit of the romanesque Pieve of San Vito e Modesto
• Hiking in the roads of the movie Gladiator

Mandatory: a good hiking attitude and a good healt, hiking shoes, adequate clothes for hiking in the countryside, backpack with 1.5 litre of water, snacks.
