About this activity
The tour starts at the entrance to the ticket office of the Duomo of Siena. You’ll be able to skip the ticket office queue, so you can get straight into discovering the Duomo’s interior: Cappella del Voto, designed and decorated by Bernini during the 17th century, the high altar, the prestigious stained glass window, designed by Duccio di Buoninsegna, the pulpit created by Nicola Pisano, the Chapel of St John the Baptist (Cappella di San Giovanni) which has a beautiful statue of the Saint himself, created by Donatello in the 15th century, the marvellous Piccolomini's Library, and by no means least, some of Michelangelo's statues.

If you happen to visit the Duomo during periods in which the floor is uncovered, the guide will stop to describe the more important masterpieces of the marble mosaic, paying particular to the work Domenico Beccafumi.

This was an amazing tour and yet, exhausting as well. We really enjoyed our tour guide and his heart for history and the city. He was an excellent tour guide and really enjoyed the journey. Lots of walking for sure on this one and note: walking to the top of this one is intense but, worth it for sure.
