The tour will start from the hermitage of Montesiepi, where you will meet your guide, who will tell you the legend of San Galgano, that is Galgano Guidotti, a young knight who took refuge on the top of this hill following his renunciation of worldly life. The story tells that he is buried in this place near his emblematic sword in the stone. Inside the Chapel you can also admire the frescoes of one of the most famous Renaissance artists of Siena, Ambrogio Lorenzetti.

The tour continues by visiting the suggestive roofless Gothic Abbey of San Galgano, a place out of the ordinary full of charm and mystery. Built in 1218, along the Maremmana road, today we can admire the Abbey without a roof, with the sky acting as a ceiling creating an almost surreal atmosphere!

After the visit to the Abbey you will move to the medieval village of Chiusdino, perched on a hillock of the metalliferous hills dominating the Val di Merse.
