Georgetown Heritage Journey

Meet a local tour guide at your hotel/port in the George Town area, then travel to the first stop of the day, the Clan Jetties on George Town's waterfront. You'll see traditional stilt houses built out over the water, and learn about the living heritage of the different Clan that resided since 100 years ago. Head to Armenian street to take photo with the most famous mural "Siblings on a bicycle" by Ernest Zacharevic. Continue to Khoo Kongsi, one of the grandest temples, also known as clan house of the Khoo family. Visit the Peranakan Mansion, the former house of a Chinese Kapitan, and see a remarkable collection of antiques and artifacts. Next, head to the Thai temple, Wat Chaiyamangkalaram to visit the Reclining Buddha and the Dharmikarama Burmese Temple. You'll see the world's 3rd-longest reclining Buddha statue, then learn the differences between Chinese and Thai practices in their Buddhism belief. There's also a grand standing Buddha in the Burmese temple to compliment the Reclining Buddha. This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel.
