About this activity
Begin this half-day experience by meeting a Penang local at the stunning Khoo Kongsi; this lavishly decorated Chinese clan house is one of the most recognisable in all of Penang. Look out for the glorious ceramic sculpture and impressive architecture of this assembly hall which acts as a testament to the Chinese influence on this multicultural melting pot.

Next, proceed to the “Street of Harmony”, a wonderfully unique road where a multitude of different religions happily co-exist. Wander down this warren of narrow lanes past ancient temples, lantern-dotted buildings and unexpected murals. See Penang’s oldest mosque, Kapitan Keling Mosque, nestled comfortably alongside Kuan Yin Teng Chinese Temple and St George's Church – Southeast Asia’s oldest Anglican church.

Stroll through Little India past sari stalls and spice shops and on to Queen Street to visit the seemingly endless array of sculptures that adorn the Sri Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in Penang. After taking in the ancient architecture and distinct cultures on show, enjoy a delicious Indian-style lunch in one of the finest local restaurants around.

This trip to Georgetown is one not to be missed.
