Gua Tempurung Cave Exploration from Penang
1 day
About this activity
After hotel pickup, your tour starts with an early morning drive across the Penang Bridge and though a bit of Peninsular Malaysia to Gopeng, a rustic town in Perak.
Meet up with your nature guide for a briefing, and then begin your 2-hour exploration of Gua Tempurung with the cave ranger. Inside the cave, you'll be fascinated by the rock formations, stalagmites, stalactites, and even patterns on the wall as you go from one chamber to another.
Afterward, refuel with lunch at a local restaurant. If time permits, you might also be able to make a photo stop at the palaces of the Sultan of Perak in Kuala Kangsar before returning to Penang, where your tour ends.

We were aware that the caves were two hours away. That was OK. Our driver was driving a little too fast at times for our liking. When we got to the caves and the tickets were purchased, there was a bit of confusion. We went with a group of others where the guide spoke their language not english, they were laughing alot, we had no idea. The caves were very big and a huge amount of stairs. Lunch was nice, the car ride back was a little scary, It was OK, not really worth four hours travelling to see them.
