Penang Night Tour from Georgetown with Malacca Strait Ferry Ride

About this activity
Upon pickup from your Penang hotel, head to an open-air hawker center in historical Georgetown, accompanied by your knowledgeable local guide.

Stop at numerous food carts and smell the aromas of exotic spices, sampling world-renowned Penang cuisine as you go (own expense). You’ll taste a variety of Malaysian dishes – from popular satay sticks of barbecued meat to local seafood delicacies.

Relax after dinner as you embark on a 15-minute ferry ride across the Malacca Strait to the mainland. In operation since the 1920s, the nostalgic ferry will take you back to what it was like to travel along the Malay Peninsula in the past.

From both sides of the ferry’s open deck, admire incredible views of Penang’s illuminated skyline at night. Along with a panoramic vista of Penang from the water, you’ll see Penang Bridge in the distance.

After you disembark, board a sightseeing coach for your return trip to Penang Island and its nightlife. Travel across Penang Bridge, which spans eight miles (13.5 km) across, making it one of the longest bridges in the world!

Mr Phillips Chinese origin, guide and driver brought Camry to pick up us. A passionate lover of old Bollywood movies. Regaled us with his Hindi knowledge and sang well along with the CD oozing out old melodies. A nice trip through town and old bridge to ferry ride, loaded car in it took us on the other shore of river

'This was the only tour we were not happy with Once around the block in the Trishaw (maybe 10 to 12 minutes) and 1 cooldrink each we did think we were getting tea when we booked months ago The drink was not on the voucher but when we arrived home a new voucher had been sent to our email with the drink on that and we weren't even taken to the hotel that was on the new voucher Would say to anyone to just do the Trishaw on your own and not the tour We did hear it's very cheap per hour

The trip was well worth it. The experience was great and Mr Philip the driver made every effort possible to make us feel very comfortable. Thumbs Up.

My driver had a problem with his car and was 30 minutes late which was no problem because they did ring and advise me so I asked could I shorten the tour otherwise it would have finished at 11pm. I was picked up at 7.45pm by my driver and we did a drive around Georgetown and went for a meal but my major disappointment was the Rickshaw ride itself. The ride was no longer than 10 minutes, I went down one street which was empty except for prostitutes and then up another street which was also empty back to my hotel. I was so stunned I asked my driver "Is that it?". We didn't go anywhere near any of the nightlife or markets and it was totally disappointing. I know I asked to shorten it and I didn't bother about the free drink at the revolving bar but I was back at my hotel by 9pm so had 1hour 15minutes of a 3 hour tour.
