10Days Bhutan Travel Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Paro - Thimphu (Altitude 2320 m) (Distance: 54 km, 1 hr).(Lunch/Dinner) Arrive in Paro. Upon arrival , our guide will receive you at the Airport and drive to Thimphu. On the way, view Tamchog Monastery built by Thangthong Gyalpo (Popularly known as Lama Chazampa, which literally means, the Iron Bridge builder) in the 15th century. 
DAY 02 Thimphu Sightseeing: (Altitude 2320 m (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)The day begins with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten (1974) built in honour of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, and then visit the Tallest Statue of Buddha, Takin Preserve center, Dupthop Lhakhang one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan and Changangkha Lhakhang. Next, visit Cheri monastery. 
DAY 03: Thimphu - Punakha (Altitude 1310 m) (72 Km, 3 hrs drive) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)After breakfast, drive to Punakha via Dochula pass. If the weather is clear, we stop for a while at Dochula pass to view Higher Himalayas. Drive further down and visit the Royal Botanical Garden at Lamperi. Visit venous places in Punakha. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 04. Punakha - Gangtey (Altitude 3120 m) - Wangdiphodrang: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Drive to the beautiful valley of Gangtey. Enroute sightseeing in the valley of Wangdiphodrang includes: visit to WangdiphodrangDzong built in 1638. 
Day 5: Gangtey – Trongsa - Bumthang: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Drive to Trongsa. Visit TrongsaDzong, the most impressive dzong of Bhutan, built in its present form in 1644 by Chogyal MinjurTempa, the official who was sent by Shabdrung to unify eastern Bhutan and enlarged at the end of the 17th century by Desi Tenzin Rabgay. 
Day 6: Bumthang Sightseeing: (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) After breakfast, visit Jakar Dzong, which literally means “The Castle of White Bird”. The current structure was built in 1667. Visit Jambay Lhakhang, built by King Srongsen Gampo of Tibet in the year 659 on the same day as KichuLhakhang in Paro.
Day 7: Bumthang - Thimphu Sightseeing:(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) (Altitude 2320 m). After breakfast, drive to Thimphu. Lunch will be served on the way. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 8: Thimphu – Paro: (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Early morning, drive to the Dzong for Throngdroel ceremony. (The ceremony will be over at 11:00 am) After lunch excursion to Cheri Monastery. Later take a hike to Cheri Monastery.
Day 9: Paro Hike to Taktsang Monastery: (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
DAY 10: Departure: (Altitude 2280 m) Early morning breakfast & drive to the airport and farewell.
