Stop At: Changi Prison, Singapore

Changi Prison was constructed by the British administration of the Straits Settlements as a civilian prison in 1936. When it was officially operational in June the following year, it was declared as one of, if not the best, prisons throughout the vast British Empire. The design of the prison was based off a "T"-shaped structure, with two cell-block wings stretching out from a central main block (for administration areas and warden-offices), to allow for quick and easy access to either cell-block wing for the wardens whenever necessary (from up above, the prison buildings formed the shape of the top of a telegram/telephone pole). Changi Prison also boasted the use of an advanced and extensive alarm system and had electrical lighting in its cells along with flush-toilets in each. The prison had a holding capacity of 600.

Johore Battery was well-known during the Battle for Singapore as the site of three 15-inch guns, called monster guns by locals, called into action against the invading Japanese forces. The original coastal battery itself is no longer on-site, but a replica of a 15-inch gun has been installed over the original tunnel/casemate system. There's even a concrete walkway/layout above ground showing the tunnel system. You can also see into the tunnel system via a small observation glass in the ground.

Changi Point Coastal Walk is a 2.6km walking path that stretches along the coast of Changi. From the footpaths and boardwalks, you can get views of the sea and offshore kelongs and boats.The boardwalk is made up of four segments: Sunset Walk for a splendid view of the sunset over Changi Point, amid a backdrop of huge boulders. Kelong Walk: a stretch of the boardwalk with kelong stilts built over water, reminiscent of the 'good old long days'. Cliff Walk: located just below the hilltop chalets, allows a walk through lush greenery. Viewing decks along this stretch at vantage points provide panoramic views. Sailing Point Walk: near the Changi Sailing Club provides open views of the sea.

Stop At: Changi Village, Changi Village, Singapore

Changi is a planning area located in the geographical region of Tanah Merah in the East Region of Singapore. Sharing borders with Pasir Ris and Tampines to the west, Changi Bay to the southeast, the South China Sea to the east and the Serangoon Harbour to the north.

The Kranji War Memorial (Chinese: 克兰芝阵亡战士公坟; Malay: Tanah Perkuburan Perang Kranji; Tamil: கிராஞ்சி போர் நினைவு) is located at 9 Woodlands Road, in Kranji in northern Singapore. Dedicated to the men and women from the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka, India, Malaya, the Netherlands and New Zealand who died defending Singapore and Malaya against the invading Japanese forces during World War II, it comprises the War Graves, the Memorial Walls, the State Cemetery, and the Military Graves.

  • Please note: The Changi Museum & Chapel is currently closed for renovation until late 2020. During this period, the tour will include a visit to the temporary exhibition of The Changi Chapel and Museum instead
