About this activity
Make your own way to Golden Mile Complex for your 12:05am Business Class coach to Kuala Lumpur. Do arrive at least 2 hours before departure (ie: 10:05pm the night before) for check-in formalities, as check-in closes 90 minutes before departure.
Relax in your spacious reclinable seat as your coach crosses the Singapore border. Depending on traffic conditions, you will arrive at Kuala Lumpur at dawn where your coach will drop you off at Berjaya Times Square Mall (opposite Melia Hotel). Cross the overhead bridge to Melia Hotel, and feel free to have breakfast at own expense at the hotel restaurant, your 1st English-speaking guide will come by Melia Hotel driveway to pick you up at about 09:00am.
Sit back on the sightseeing minivan/bus as your guide provides you with some facts about Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital. First stop, you will arrive at the exterior of
Petronas Twin Towers to take photos directly below the massive complex. After which, you will proceed to some local shops specializing in handicrafts and snacks. Next, admire five other must-sees of Kuala Lumpur - the
National Palace,
Sultan Abdul Samad Building (former supreme court and government offices of the British colonial administration),
National Monument,
National Mosque, and
Independence Square. If time permits, you will also be given the opportunity to enter the National Museum (optional: US$2/entry) to learn more about Malaysia's history.
At around noon, you will be dropped off back at Melia Hotel for lunch at own expense. Duly refreshed, your 2nd English-speaking guide will come by Melia Hotel driveway to pick you up at about 02:00pm. You will be brought first to the famous
Royal Selangor Pewter Factory, producing pewters for ceremonial purposes, and a batik outlet specializing in traditional batik.
After which, you will be whisked to the majestic
Batu Caves - the most important Hindu site in Malaysia, set on a 400 million year-old limestone hill. You will find the world's tallest Lord Murugan statue standing at an impressive height of 42.7m, and the iconic rainbow staircase at Batu Caves.
Finally, you will brought back to Melia Hotel at about 05:30pm. Note: If you have opted for an overnight stay (and return the next day on an afternoon Business Class coach) during booking, feel free to check-in to your room.
Otherwise, walk 5 minutes from Melia Hotel to the coach check-in counter (remember to print your personalized walking map before departure) to check-in for your evening Business Class coach back to Singapore. Depending on traffic conditions, you will arrive back in Singapore after about 5+ hours.
