It was supposed to be a voice guided tour, but not even 10 miles into the trip, we discovered they didn’t download all the tour folders in the iPad. With no service at all, we couldn’t download them, therefore had no idea what we were passing and seeing. To their credit, they did provide a binder with a lot of information. But, if you are the passenger, and get carsick, reading the binder is not a possibility. Besides, we paid to have a voice guided tour and didn’t get it.

Very nice people but the price is not a good value. You are Basically renting a car for less than a day. It would be cheaper to just go to a car rental agency. The Jeep is not used for any off road or close encounters so there is no difference between their service and renting a car for the day that you can take into Canada. They do provide a very cool guide book but it isn't any information that you can't download yourself from the Internet.

It was a very different type of tour . We saw very unique things only available on your own. Jeeps are nice and maintained well

After 2 days on the ship we were eager to get away on our own. This DIY Jeep Tour is just what we were looking for. Easy to walk to from the pier, easy check in, easy drop off. The vehicles are in great shape and the road is well-paved. A travel guide is provided which provides some history and backstory to what you're seeing at any given time. Take a drink and a snack as there aren't many (any) stops between Skagway and where we turned around at Emerald Lake. If I had to give any advice, it would be to start out a little later in the morning as the clouds engulfed part of the upper elevations of the highway on the way up (like, it was a little freaky but in a good way) but they had cleared away nicely by the time we make our way back to Skagway. We're early risers so we left out around 8:30. I would definitely look forward to doing this again! Oh, and the bear...!
