Haines Tour From Skagway

Once in Haines, meet your guide and embark on a tour up the Haines scenic byway and enter the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. Your guide will entertain you with tales of the culture, natural history, and life in rural Alaska as you make your way to the private property of Chilkat River Adventures. Here you will be outfitted with warm outerwear and board your river boat for your journey through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. You will cruise along miles of tributaries of the stunning glacially carved, braided Chilkat River system. The boat is powered by four stroke outboard jet motors and is uncovered for the best wildlife, scenery, and photography opportunities. Enjoy narration from your captain along the journey about the many amazing vistas surrounding you. Moose are often the highlight of the tour along with bald eagles with their massive nests that are dotted along the river banks. If you encounter a moose, bear or any other wildlife, your captain can stop the boat so you can get your Alaska photo of a lifetime! After your tour, relax at the River Adventures lunch pavilion for a meal including hot dogs cooked on the grill, vegetarian chili, and hot/cold drinks.
