The puppies were adorable and social. It's so cool to learn about these dogs and their work. These dogs and their humans truly love what they do.

The dogs were so cool and Michelle Phillip's trains these dogs for the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod races. The real thing here! Loved our trip and Mike was the friendliest and most knowledgeable!

This tour was wonderful. The weather was great and the staff at the sledding site were wonderfully informative - and there to show us what they love to do. The dogs were amazing, and especially playing with the puppies. The dogs pulling the ATV's were outstanding and impressive.

This was a great tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to get a good overview of the Skagway region and a better understanding of dog sledding, and the summer sled ride was a blast!

I thought there would’ve been a little more presentation about dog sledding. Spent an hour of the 4 with the dogs, etc. Beautiful ride to and from. Good guide/driver.

I just want to say Harry and Zach were awesome and very entertaining. They stopped twice for us to take videos and picture of the bears. The adventure with the dogs were really cool and my 7 year old loved it. She especially loved holding all the puppies.

5th time visiting a mushers camp in Alaska over the last 10 years, always a favorite with the kids! Our group ranged from Age 5 to 75. Somehow, I missed the memo to have passports in hand. We had to run back to the ship to retrieve them. Our tour guide, Harry was knowledgeable and informative during the drive and we had lots of time to play with the puppies although it was a bit crowded. Somehow Wednesdays tend to be busier for this tour. The dogs are all clearly well cared for and enthusiastic to show off their talents pulling the vehicle on the short gravel trail. We got a kick out of their rambunctiousness when they left the trail to play in the water. There was some on and off rain making the air quite chilly, so I'd strongly recommend dressing in layers with rain outerwear. The restroom facilities are horrendous! If you prefer to us the facilities on the bus, bring your own toilet paper as it didn't have any. All in all, I'd strongly recommend this excursion. It would have been nice if the venue had complementary hot cocoa and coffee available although we did notice it in the gift shop for sale as we were leaving.

Our guide, Harry, was informative and friendly talking about flora, fauna, history and geology of the area. My wife and I were joined by 5 others from another cruise ship. We were taken by van to Michelle Phillips’ Tagish Lake Kennel. After an hour we arrived at the kennel, entered and were immediate greeted by 10 georgious, tail wagging puppies. We spent about 29 minutes with the puppies and then were taken into the dog yard and were greeted by Michelle. There were about 35 dogs in the yard and we watched the dogs being attached to the gang lines and the Kawasaki mules. I was fortunate to sit in the front seat with Michelle was we rode for about 2 mikes through the trails in the beautiful Yukon wilderness. Being an Iditarod afficianado I had lots of questions and she graciously answered all. Upon returning to the dog yard, she led us to a hut where she had sled dog racing equipment and maps of the Iditarod and the Yukon Quest races. She explained the uses of the equipment and race logistics. She answered questions again and then we went back to the puppy yard. I have an Iditarod cap and she graciously signed the bill. We exited through a small gift shop with shirts, leashes, books and a variety of things for sale. We drove for a few minutes to the “Welcome to the Yukon” sign and had time for pics. We stopped several times on the return trip for pics. We asked Harry for restaurant and shopping suggestions which were helpful. He offered to drop us off in town or at the cruise ship pier.

This was our best excursion on our Alaska cruise. Harry was our guide and he was fabulous. He knew all the staff at the site and actually knew many of the husky puppies and what litter they were from. Being able to ride on a training run with the actual dogs who run the race was spectacular.

When we got off the ship in Juneau it was raining and the wind was blowing. Helicopter tours had been cancelled along with several other tours. We called Mike, from Yukon Dog Sledding and he said they would be waiting for the group. We were late getting started but that was because some people forgot their passports. Since we were going from Alaska into BC they had to get them. Once under way Nate, who drove the bus, was very informative during the ride to the dog camp. The ride was about 1.5 hours, but the scenery along the way was great and Nate talked the entire time. We paralleled the Train ride. We made a couple of stops before the camp. There was a bathroom on the bus. The time at the camp was about 1.5 hours. You could play with the puppies and take pictures. Before heading out for the dog pull we met with one of the camp workers who talked about equipment, clothing, training of the dogs and answered any questions we had. Once it was your turn to go with the musher you got into the 4x vehicle, (summer run) and watched as they hooked up the dogs. It was unbelievable how excited the dogs got before a run. Michelle Phillips was our musher and owner of the camp. The dogs pulled us along a 1.5 mile rocky road trail. They stopped halfway to cool off in the water and then finished the run. I took a video of the run, which lasted about 9 minutes. Although the run itself was pretty quick it was great to see the enthusiasm of the dogs as they ran. Michelle answered all our questions and took some pictures of our family in the 4x4 and the team that pulled us.We returned to the camp and toured the mushers cabin and played with the puppies. If you take this trip you need to bring some snacks or food. The ride too and back from the camp is long. This is a good tour but be prepared for the long ride and crossing the border.

We had such a blast on this tour. First off our guides Mike and Harry were fantastic. They offered a lot of information and made the ride to the Yukon very enjoyable. At the camp we held puppies, listened to a presentation, and then actually rode with Michelle herself on a training run via ATV with the dogs. It was very personal and cool to see her in action with the dogs. We talked to other cruisers who did another excursion thru the cruise line and they didn’t even get to hold puppies or meet a real musher. I strongly reckoned this tour!
