About this activity
Leave your Sofia hotel at 9am and head out to the village of Golyam Izvor. Meet your horse and get brief instructions before saddling your horse and setting off on an adventure.
Ride along forest paths to the ridge of Lisets Mountain and soak in a splendid panorama view of Tetevan Balkan. Continue on through a century-old beech forest and approach Glozhene Monastery, with its impressive silhouette perched high on an isolated rock.
Go on to the deep Morovitsa Cave. It's hidden away in the thick of the forest and has a large dome. Walk inside and explore the geological rock formations. Afterwards, return on horseback to Golyam Izvor.
At the conclusion of the horse ride, a vehicle will return you to Sofia.
