Itinerary

Day 1: Sofia - Klisura Monastery - Chiprovtsi - Belogradchik (4.5 h)

Stop At: History Museum, 2 Vitosha str., Chiprovtsi 3640 Bulgaria
We will visit the ethnographic museum "Katerina’s House" with its unique, hand-embroidered icons! Then we will see the exposition of the famous Chiprovtsi carpets weaved in the town. Lunch in Chiprovtsi followed by a transfer to Belogradchik and accommodation!
Duration: 2 hours

Pass By: Klisurski Monastery, Between Berkovitsa and Varshets, Montana Bulgaria
Klisurski Monastery of St. Cyril and St. Methodius is situated at the foot of Todorini kukli Peak. The monastery was founded as early as the first half of the 13th century. In its many years of existence the monastery has been destroyed, looted, and reconstructed several times.

Day 2: Walk Around the Belogradchik Rocks

Stop At: Belogradchik Fortress, Ul. Dedo Bozhin 15, Belogradchik 3900 Bulgaria
The Belogradchik rocks is the most visited natural phenomenon in Bulgaria.
Belogradchik fortress is an ancient fortress located on the north slopes of the Balkan Mountains. It is one of the best-preserved strongholds in Bulgaria and a cultural monument of national importance. The evening concert are taking place here.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Magura Cave, 3938, Bulgaria
In one of the caverns prehistoric paintings have been discovered, carved into the walls and decorated with bat guano.

The paintings date from different eras – the early Paleolithic, the Neolithic, the later Neolithic, and the beginning of the Bronze Age. A solar calendar from the late Neolithic found there is the earliest solar calendar discovered in Europe.

Stop At: Venetsa Cave, Belogradchik 3945 Bulgaria
The cave was accidentally discovered in 1970 during blasting quarrying. It was opened in 2015 and is now a jewel of nature. You will see ice crystals, stalactites, stalagmites, grapevine stalactites.
