Itinerary

Day 1: Sofia-Plovdiv

Stop At: Bachkovo Monastery, 10km south of Asenovgrad on the main road between Assenovgrad and Smolyan, Bachkovo 4251 Bulgaria
Morning - the pick up could be from your hotel in Sofia city or directly from the Airport (Bus,Train station). 1.5 Hours drive will take us to Plovdiv area. There we will start with a visit of the second oldest monastery in Bulgaria - Bachkovo (founded 1083). We will need less than an hour to explore this holy place and learn more about the history, traditions and customs.

Stop At: Assenova krepost (Asen's Fortress), Asenovgrad 4000 Bulgaria
20 Minutes drive from the monastery complex will take us to Asen's fortress - a stunning place from which you can make amazing pictures of the beautiful nature and ruins.

Stop At: Plovdiv Old Town, Plovdiv 4000 Bulgaria
Another 30 minutes drive and we will be in Plovdiv - the EU Capital of Culture for 2019. After we check in our carefully selected hotel we will start walking the old town where we will visit: Revival style house museums, 2nd century Roman theatre, Roman stadium,some nice churches (19th century) and of course the oldest Mosque in this part of the Europe (1363–1364). The evening is reserved for exploring the "Capana"- place where you will visit the best restaurants, bars and pubs in the city.

Day 2: Plovdiv-Nessebar

Stop At: NAR "Kabile", 8629, Bulgaria
After breakfast we will head to the Black Sea coast. On the way we will stop at NAR "Cabile" an old Roman military outpost with interesting museum.

Stop At: Old Nessebar, Ulitsa Mesembrija 16, Nessebar, Nessebar 8230 Bulgaria
After an hour and a half we will reach our final destination for the day. Our late lunch will be in one of the best restaurants in Nessebar's old town (UNSECO Heritage). In the afternoon we will walk around the small island of Nessebar (Important Sea town from VI century BC, kept its glory in the Roman and Byzantine era.) exploring the ancient ruins. In the evening we will go (20 min drive) to the party Capital of the Black Sea (optional, upon desires) "Sunny Beach" - the atmosphere is modern and the clubs are one of the best! Overnight could be in Nessebar old town or Sunny Beach.

Day 3: Nessebar-Varna

Stop At: Varna Archaeological Museum, Bul. Maria Louisa 41, Varna 9000 Bulgaria
This day is dedicated to the Black Sea. From Nessebar we will drive to Varna (The Sea Capital of Bulgaria) where you will have the chance to visit the Archeological museum (The oldest gold treasury ever found in the World).

Stop At: The Retro Museum In Varna, Andrey Saharov Str. 2 Grand Mall, Varna 9000 Bulgaria
We will visit also the Retro museum, which has the biggest collection of cars and stuff from the Communist period in Bulgaria.

Stop At: Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, Pl. Sveti Sveti Kiril I Metodiy 2, Varna Bulgaria
In the afternoon we will walk around Varna city centre and visit the famous Cathedral. The evening is all about Varna Sea garden with amazing pirate ship restaurant, beach bars and dance clubs. Overnight in Varna.

Day 4: Varna- Veliko Tarnovo

Stop At: Arbanassi, 5029 Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria
After breakfast we will have to check out our beautiful hotel in Varna and head our way to Veliko Tarnovo (The Medieval Capital of Bulgaria). Our lunch will be in Arbanassi village after which we will visit the most famous church with beautiful iconostasis and zodiac wheel (17th century).

Stop At: Tsarevets, Tsar Asen Square, Veliko Tarnovo 5000 Bulgaria
The afternoon will be dedicated to explore the Medieval fortress of "Tzarevets" (the King hill). Our night will be in cozy hotel in Veliko Tarnovo centre. Overnight.

Day 5: Veliko Tarnovo- Sofia

Stop At: Prohodna Cave, Village Karlukovo Iskar George, Karlukovo 5782 Bulgaria
This is our last day, but before we say goodbye you will be able to visit two of the most popular caves in this part of the country - "Prohodna cave" (Eyes of God) and "Saeva dupka"(the largest stalcton 60 meters in diameter). The location of these stunning natural wonderes is half way from Veliko Tarnovo to Sofia. Our lunch will be somewhere on the way but this will be your chance to try Serbian grill Bulgarian style.

It is well laid out and accessible for tourists. Saeva Dupka cave consists of 400 meters of corridors and 5 galleries.

For dinner we will be back in Sofia. After the check in centrally located hotel you will receive an important instructions how to spend an unforgettable time in Sofia and everyting about the nightlife. On the next day a transfer from your hotel to the Airport (Bus or Train station) is included.
