First off, we were picked up by a yellow cab, and the driver said he has never done this route before, which makes the whole thing feel like a transfer service provided by an ordinary driver, instead of a 'tour' as booked. We first noticed that the driver didn't know his way in Pirot, he drove past the Kaleto fortress, and had to stop and ask the local where it was to make the right turn. We were refused entry into the fortress by the security as we were wearing sandals, so we only spent 10 minutes and Pirot, and had to move on to Nis. We were supposed to have lunch somewhere in Nis, but clearly the driver didn't know where. So he parked the car and took us on a 15min walk, asking locals along the way where we can have pleskavitsa. He then admits that he has no internet data so he was guessing his way. Any professional driver or guide should have internet with them, even if they forgot to prepare a SIM card, he should have bought one immediately at the local shops. But he chose to drive around, guessing his way, stops to ask the locals, and I had to point to a McDonald's to him to try to connect to the free wifi there. It was then he could locate the Skull Tower in Nis, but that was after 30mins of wandering. Seeing that it was already 3pm, I asked him to just take us to the city centre, along the river, where we could walk around and feel the atmosphere of the city. He drove us to a residential area, and told us that was the centre, and asked if we really want to stop there. Any one with a sensible mind would know residential areas wouldn't be the centre, and we know there's a river in the city centre. So we had to show him the way ourselves, and we are foreigners visiting the country for the first time! From 830am -7pm that day, we were only out of the car for around 2hrs: 10mins in Pirot, 30mins lunch, 15mins Skull Tower, 1hr Nis centre. We are angry that the company sent someone inexperienced, and without professional attitude. Don't waste your time and money on this tour.
