Stop At: Tenuta Vannulo, Via Galileo Galilei 101 Contrada Vannulo, 84047 Capaccio Scalo, Capaccio-Paestum Italy

Pick up at the hotel (in Naples, Sorrento or Amalfi coast) and drive down to Capaccio for a visit to mozzarella factory called Vannuli.

At this place you stay one hour or little more and you will see all the process of making mozzarella and then a taste.

The visit and taste of mozzarella cost € 12 per person to be paid directly there.

From here we drive 30 minutes up on the hills to the small village of Aquara located at 600 meters ASL.

The territory of Aquara, is a country area located in a valley between 3 mountain massifs, all the territory is totally uncontaminated. This is the only area in Italy where a very rare native vine is grown, the name is Aglianicone and up to 50 years ago this vine was almost extinct , is thanks to the Serra family in 60s this vine was reintroduced in this territory and today it produce one of the best red wine in south Italy.

The Serra family is a couple in the 60s and with their 2 sons Luca and Marco they run a very small winery called TENUTA MAINARDI

At Tenuta we have a lunch cooked by the mamma, the lunch consists only of local organic products grown by them, during lunch they have the wine tasting of the 4 different wines including Aglianicone. One of the dishes are the famous cavatoni, a kind of local home made pasta.

After lunch Marco will take you for a visit to the vineyards and he will explain the whole process of planting and growing these vines at this kind of elevation.

The cost for the lunch, the visit and wine tasting cost € 30 per person to pay directly there.
