Pompeii and Vesuvius experience from Sorrento
You'll start your day by being picked up in your hotel and transferred by minibus to Pompeii. At the arrival, you'll enjoy a 2 hours visit to Pompeii excavation site together with an official guide.
The town, due to its burial under a layer of ashes and lapilli, was forgotten for hundreds of years since its excavations in the 18th Century.
After the visit, you'll have some free time for lunch. In the early afternoon, your visit will continue to Mt. Vesuvius: the bus will take you up to 1000 meters and from that point, there will be a 30-minute walk to the top. Once on the rim, you’ll meet an alpine guide that will provide information about the history of the crater; free time to enjoy the breathtaking view of the entire Gulf of Naples.
Return to Sorrento in the afternoon.
