Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Sorrento: Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello
1 day
Full Day
About this activity
Join this tour in Sorrento, driving South to the Amalfi Coast.
The first stop will be Positano. Positano, the most picturesque town of the Amalfi Coast resembles a waterfall cascading down to the sea. Visitors descend narrow pathways, perusing artisan workshops offering ceramics, fabled lemon products, and the distinct local style of dress.
Second stop: Amalfi. The gem of Amalfi is the oldest of Italy’s maritime republics. Whitewashed homes dotting the hillside are illuminated by the abundant sunshine that bathes the city. The basilica’s cupola is a reference to the Sicilian-Arabic influence that once dominated the area. For centuries it has been a popular destination due to its natural beauty and ideal climate.
Last stop: Ravello. Ravello and its noble villas keep alive the grandeur of a bygone era. Perched high on a hillside plateau, Ravello has stunning views of the Amalfi coastline, overlooking Minori, Maiori, and beyond. Immortalized in the films of Roberto Rossellini, the city of Ravello seduces its visitors with its contrast of opulent colours and displays of luxury and the absolute tranquillity that pervades it.
The tour ends back in Sorrento.
The tour will be either in a van or minibus. Groups of 6 to 8 people will share an 8-seat van with an English-speaking driver and no tour guide. Groups of 9 to 19 share a 19-seat minibus and are accompanied by a guide for the entire excursion.

We were in an air-conditioned car. There were 7 passengers but those on the back seats (3 of us) couldn't hear what the driver was saying as he pointed things out. We assumed he was our guide but was only a driver Positani was ridiculously overcrowded and unsuitable for any one who has any mobility problems Amalfi again has many many steps up to the Basilica which is the main attraction and Ravello is a lot of walking We enjoyed each place but would have preferred a little booklet or literature and map of each place to make it easier to get around For the cost it was not worth it as we have since discovered the Hop on off bus which is not open top and is air-conditioned does the same journey with full on board commentary with headphones for a cost of 15 euros each
We enjoyed the whole day.. A little more time in Amalfi would have been nice so we could have enjoyed our lunch. We didn't even have enough time for lunch never mind looking around : :....The rest of the trip was amazing, great drive and great tour guide. Keep up the good work.
Patty and Michele were absolutely fabulous hosts we had a fantastic day for our trip but due to the inevitable traffic and the long day her interesting and informative commentary made what could have felt a long trip between stops into a relaxing journey. Michele s excellent driving was commented upon by all of us on the bus. We would definitely recommend this trip to friends and family.
