About this activity
Start your boating adventure at the rental office near the beach in South Lake Tahoe. After some instruction on how to operate the boat and a briefing on Lake Tahoe’s boating rules, hop in with your friends or family and set off!
You have one hour of rental time. Cruise around the lake at your leisure, checking out Emerald Bay, Meeks Bay, Rubicon Point, Nevada Beach, Sand Harbor, Skunk Harbor, Crystal Bay or the many other beautiful coves, bays and beaches.
Maybe you want to make your way to one of the lake’s popular restaurants like the Beacon, Gar Woods, Sunnyside or Riva Grill. Or if it’s adrenaline-pumping adventure you’re after, use your boat for wakeboarding, tubing, waterskiing, knee-boarding or other water sports (if you don’t have your own equipment, you may rent gear, including wetsuits, at the rental office when you arrive).
At the end of your allotted rental time, just return the boat to the marina.

- A signed Rental Contract will be required at time of rental; Please note: the use of boat/equipment while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted
- A driver's license is required to operate the boat; persons 18 years and older with a valid driver's license can operate the boat with passengers of any age; persons 16 and 17 years with a valid license can drive the boat but cannot have passengers under 18 years
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by the parent or legal guardian, 12 or younger must be in a life jacket while on the boat
- It is recommended that you bring sunscreen, towels, sunglasses, sweatshirt or light jacket; food and drinks are welcome
- Customers are welcome to use the parking facilities at the marina or walk, as the rental office is in close proximity to all major hotels and casinos in South Lake Tahoe
- Customers are welcome to rent water skis, wakeboards, wakeskates, knee boards, inner tubes and wetsuits from the local operator at time of departure
- Check-in is required by 9am the day of at local supplier's office for a 10am departure

best rental company in lake tahoe
Had a fantastic time with our 3 elementary age grandchildren. The entire staff was great!!! Knowledgable, friendly, helpful. Everything went perfectly...even though we had very little previous experience, in boating. The boat was nice and there were not any surprise charges at the end. Gas was reasonable... 20 for an hr. Be generous with your tips. The staff deserves ut. It was the highlight of out trip.
The boating experience on Lake Tahoe was great. If you like the cold water it is the best. We were able to wake board and enjoy the beautiful blue water. The scenery from the lake point of view was spectacular. The booking of the boat was less than clear. There was no information during and after the booking process on the location of the marina. And there were no scheduling time listed on when the boat would be available. When we arrive at the marina our boat was not available and we had to pay more for the boat that was available on the time that we request. If I had to do it over I would do more research before I booked with this company.
Lake Tahoe is one great place and being on the water is great, the blue water is breath taking. The one line reservation process is less than expected. It could have been clearer and made easier to let us know the location of the marina and their phone number.
We had an AWESOME experience! Our deckhand was the nicest guy and I am really bummed I forgot his name. He was kind, knowledgable and very friendly. We had such a great time we stayed out on the boat for an extra time! The boat was clean, in good condition too! Definitely recommend South Lake Tahoe Boat rental!
