About this activity
Pick up your kayak at the rental office near the beach in South Lake Tahoe, and after receiving instructions and a few safety tips, push off into the water and start exploring.
Your sit-on-top kayak allows you to travel through the water at your own pace, paddling hard if you’re looking to get a bit of exercise or just taking your time to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful Lake Tahoe setting. Paddle along the shore to stay out of the boat lanes, and enjoy the views of snowcapped peaks that surround the lake.
During your 1-, 4- or 8-hour rental, find out-of-the way coves and beaches where you can enjoy the solitude, or check out popular Lake Tahoe sights like Emerald Bay, where you can see the historical Vikingsholm mansion and the only island on the lake. The staff at the rental shop will be happy to give you recommendations on where to paddle, if you like.
When your time is up, just return the kayak to the marina.
