About this activity
Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta, 6 The Close, Salisbury SP1 2EF England

This port transfer allows you to combine the drive from the Port of Southampton to London with visits to three world-class attractions! You will be met on arrival at the Southampton docks by your friendly guide and transferred by luxury coach to London via Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor.

The first stop on our tour is the beautiful town of Salisbury, location of one of Britain’s best examples of Gothic architecture and home to the tallest Cathedral spire in the whole of England, the world’s oldest clock and one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. After a guided tour through the medieval town, you will have free time to explore on your own and go into the cathedral if you wish.

We plan to spend one hour in Salisbury, enough time for a photo stop and visit to the Cathedral, before hopping back in your coach and drive through the beautiful English countryside, past villages with historical churches and thatched-roof cottages. We recommend purchasing lunch for later in the day in Salisbury.

Entry to Salisbury Cathedral is not included on this tour, and entry prices are on a recommended donation basis. Please note as Salisbury Cathedral is a working Cathedral it may be subject to last minute closures.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Stonehenge, Amesbury SP4 7DE England

On the way to our second stop if the day, Stonehenge, your guide will tell you of he many myths, legends and facts behind one of the greatest mysteries of the prehistoric world. Was it a temple, a clock, a burial site? Decide for yourself as you walk around the stones.

You'll have the chance to visit this world famous monument from 4-5,000 years ago and still have enough time for the gift shop or a quick coffee. You'll also have the chance to explore the new visitor centre and neolithic village.

If you would like to enter Stonehenge, please select the 'Entry included' at the time of booking.

If you select 'Entry not included', you can purchase Stonehenge tickets from your guide on the day of your tour if there is availability.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Windsor Castle, Castle Hill, Windsor SL4 1PD England

Almost 1,000 years of royal history are waiting for you at Windsor Castle, perched high above the River Thames and the largest continuously occupied castle in the world. Home to British Monarchs for one thousand years and the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II, the Castle remains a working palace to this day.

See the splendour of St. George’s chapel and the sumptuous state apartments. The guide will not enter Windsor Castle with you - you will receive a personal audio guide on admission so you can take in Windsor Castle at your own pace.

If you wish to enter Windsor Castle, please select 'Entry included' at the time of booking. Should you choose not to enter the Castle, Windsor itself is a pretty town full of traditional shops and historic pubs.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: International Friends, 229 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PN England

Your coach will depart Windsor at approximately 4pm for your journey to London, which is less than an hour’s drive. When you arrive in London, additional vehicles or taxis may be used (included in the price) to ensure that hotel drop-offs for all passengers are completed as quickly as possible.

We had verbally and in print that gratuities, food and drink provided, but they were not! The tour itself was OK! The leader talked to us on bus but left us alone on the tour.

This tour provided so much more than the ship's tour. Valentina was so enthusiastic and such a sweet girl. We loved all 3 sites and it was nice to be driven directly to the door of our hotel, which turned out to not be exactly where I thought it was. Great day!

The start of this tour was very poorly organized. The buses were not there on time and no one from the staff knew where the boarding of our bus was. Loading the luggage was mass confusion. Consequently we left 30 minutes late and that cut into our time at the sites. On a positive note our tour guide, Steve was very informative and did a good job.

Disappointment was not primarily in the places visited but by tour guide/driver. Our bus was only a group of 31 people who arrived promptly at the bus and departed a little early in fact. Tour guide stated we would arrive ahead of the other tour groups which we thought was a good thing. Before we got off the bus at the first stop (Salisbury) our guide said if we left a little early we would keep ourselves ahead of the other buses. This was getting to be a pattern we thought. We had a short stop at Salisbury and off to Stonehenge. Before departing the bus again we were told by the tour guide that if we left a little early we would (again) keep ourselves ahead of the other tour buses for the next stop. So off we go again, cut a little short on time. And despite the fact we were early there were no headphones available. I expected to be provided with headphones. After this short stop we proceeded to Windsor. Of course we arrived early because we had been early all day and had our stops shortened. We spent a great amount of time in line for the ribbon bands to get in. Arriving back to the bus we were split into groups so that other buses could take us to our hotels. After sitting for about 25 minutes we realized the tour guides and bus drivers were all standing around taking what appeared to be a break. All the rushing we had done all day was evidently to get the guide and driver back for their break time. If you take a few minutes away from each stop that adds up to a nice little get together time for the tour guides and drivers. We paid a lot of money for their break. This is the first time we have used Viator and are very disappointed in this arrangement. We would have like to have spent the full time allotted at each stop as that we needed to see everything. In fact we never had time to even grab a bite to eat all day. If you stopped to get in line for a meal you lost valuable time at each stop. This set up is not what we anticipated from Viator.

As first-timer to UK, I enjoyed to have the opportunity to see the countryside, but would like to have spend more time in Salisbury and Windsor.

We were trying to save money verses the shore excursion from the cruise ship and this one far exceeded our expectations. I booked 4 Viators with our recent cruise. We were picked up at our last port --very easy to find guide, then off to Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor Castle, and our tour guide had us to the airport with plenty of time to spare. He was wonderful and gave personal attention to all on board the bus. Our driver also deserves an applaud. We will add Viator to further cruises.

Great tour with highly knowledgeable guide. Does require some walking, Salisbury and Stonehenge, but well worth the effort. This tour operator actually drops you AT YOUR HOTEL not just somewhere in London. Fantastic service.

Our Post-Cruise tour was a perfect way to end our British Isles Cruise and get us to the airport for our flight home. All three stops were desired destinations. The tour guide and driver were outstanding and the bus was clean and comfortable. Instructions to meet them when we disembarked were clear and simple. I will definitely recommend this tour. Thanks for the memories!!

Will, was our guide and quite funny. It was a wonderful experience. Coming off a ship can be very chaotic so I was a little nervous about finding our guide but there was someone there right when we departed customs.
