Itinerary
We meet in front of the city model at the eastern end of Riva, the waterfront promenade, where we enter the time machine and travel 1700 years back in history.
In order to immerse ourselves into the Roman times we will visit the emperor Diocletian in his Palace, passing through his basements, dining area, terrace and conference room. He will reveal us the stories about how he became the emperor, met his wife, the reason why he refused to come back on the throne and some of his biggest gardening tips.
Our next guide St. Domnius will narrate us about his relation with emperor Diocletian, the citizens of Salona who made the Palace live eternally and how he become the patron of Split.
We will follow the expansion of Palace beyond the walls and seek the secret spots: the ancient synagogue, the roman graffiti art, the narrowest church and the most acoustic room in the Palace, the narrowest street in the world, the Napoleon's post box, the sphinx's missing head, the secret citrus garden, the ancient air conditioning system, the pharaoh's mausoleum, the relief of drunk bishop, the head of frowning husband paying the bills...
