In ancient times, Salona was the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia, until the migration of people, when it was abandoned. Salona has a very well-preserved amphitheater, theater, basilica, cemetery and many other Roman buildings. The construction of the Salonitan city walls took several centuries.

Depart for the Klis fortress at 10:30am. From its origin as a small stronghold, built by the ancient Illyrian tribe Dalmatae, becoming a royal castle that was the seat of many Croatian kings. Due to its location on a pass that separates the mountains Mosor and Kozjak, the fortress served as a major source of defense in Dalmatia, especially against the Ottoman advance. The fortress has been a key crossroad between the Mediterranean belt and the Balkan rear. Depart to Split at 12:30pm and arrive at 1:10pm.
