About this activity
PLEASE NOTE: Passengers who are not on a cruise will be notified 1 week prior to their tour date of the pick up time and location (Split city center, close to the port).

On your tour, you will enjoy a city tour of Split, and discover a hidden coastal gem - the lovely town of Trogir. Your guide will show you the most important sites, and introduce you to the rich history and folklore of these two places. We guarantee a day to remember!

Your guide will meet you at the ship's terminal approximately 30 minutes after docking (please provide the ship's name and time of arrival when booking). The day will start with with a short ride along the coast to Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded by Greek colonists in the 3rd century BC, Trogir has 2300 years of continuous urban tradition. Its beautiful Romanesque churches are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period.

Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex in all of Central Europe. Your guide will show you the historical city core, the city gate and walls, fortress Kamerlengo, the Duke's Palace, the Cathedral, and much more! You will then have 1 hour free time to have a meal, and enjoy a walk in the city before heading back to Split.

Once you arrive in Split, you will take a city tour of one of the oldest cities in the region, known for its exceptional historical heritage dating back to the 4th century BC! Explore the palace of Diocletian, an ancient palace built by the Roman emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD, that today forms about half the old town and city center. You will also see Prokurative, Bell Tower of St. Duje, and much more!

The tour finishes in Split city center where You can enjoy a bit of free time before boarding or we can organize a taxi to take You back to port (approx €7). Alternatively, You can walk back as it is a leisurely 15 minute walk to the ship's terminal - Your guide will explain how to get there.

Tina was dynamic, she was so excited to show us her homeland. She had so much knowledge of the area and was great at explaining the history and culture of the area. We learned so much and had a great day!

There were only 6 of us in our group, and Sandra, our guide was terrific.. I thought this tour was the perfect combination of small town beauty and historical sightseeing. Diocletian's palace is most impressive, and the lavender gelato in Trogir is a must! I also enjoyed the drive through the city of Split to get to Trogir.

Excellent tour because of Tina! She grew up in Split and had a thorough knowledge of the history as well as current culture of both locations. When the 5 hour tour was over, Tina gave us great advice on where to spend the rest of our day in Split. We were very fortunate to be the only two on the tour with Tina and the driver, and the fact that our tour wasn't cancelled reflects very favorably on Viator/ Croatian Trails.

The tour to Split and Trogir was absolutely wonderful. We had a first class tour guide who spoke excellent English and who gave us a historical overview of the country and the regions were were visiting. The sites were beautiful and we had ample time to see all the places as described on the advertised tour. Our guide stayed with us most of the time but we also had time on our own to explore, take photos and shop. We had a comfortable, clean mini van for the four of us and our driver was cautious and considerate. He stopped on numerous occasions to allow us to take photos. We would highly recommend this tour and we plan to return.
