Split Rock Climbing Tour

About this activity
We pick up guests at Split Prokurative, then transfer them to Marjan hill. We brief guests about rock climbing gear and techniques. Instructor climbs route first and demonstrates techniques. Guests climb after us, on supervision of our climbing instructors. Upon completion we return to Split.
Marjan hill is a protected park forest on the west side of City of Split. On the southwest side, there is a limestone ridge that rises up from the pine tree forest. This barrier is 400 meters long and on some parts it is up to 50 meters high. On the wall there are more than 70 bolted routes suitable for beginners (4a grade) to experts (8a grade)! From the cliff, you have a great view of Split’s best beach Kasjuni, the Ciovo Peninsula, the Adriatic Sea and Solta, Brac and Hvar islands.
Some people can be very concerned about booking rock climbing tours as they think its a dangerous activity, or that they can fall or hurt themselves. This is not true! In this tour you are climbing with professional licensed guides, most of them with Himalayan climbing experience. The way they climb with guests is called “top rope”, that means that the rope you are attached is going through the anchor on the top of the route to your instructor who is belaying you, so in the case that you slip or you don’t have enough power to do some moves you will just sit in your harness and slowly go down. Quite easy!
