About this activity
Your tour will start at Asara Wine Estate, beautifully situated on a hill. Take in the beautiful views of the Stellenbosch area, with dams, hills and mountains in the background. After meeting your guide and being equipped with a mountain bike and helmet, begin riding along an off-road path descending through the vineyards.
Cross another wine estate called Neethlingshof, one of the biggest wine estates in the Stellenbosch Region. Then, depending on the biking ability of the group and the weather, a wine tasting will be done at the LovanE Wine Estate. LovanE is a small but authentic wine estate where you will taste 5 different wines.
After the tasting, you will bike along an uphill route for about an hour to reach the top of the hill. You will have the opportunity to take in the views of the area along the way, and if the weather is clear, see the Drakenstein Mountain Area.
Next, a downhill route will take you through beautiful vineyards and wine estates like Boschkloof and Thandi. Gradually cycle back to your original departure point at Asara Wine Estate where you will enjoy your second wine tasting. At Asara, you will taste 5 wines and have the opportunity to purchase one or more (at own expense) of their wine bottles at the conclusion of your 3-hour mountain biking tour.
