Stop At: Horseriding at Pink Geranium, Pink Geranium Nursery, Corner of N1 and R304 Corner of N1 and R304, Elsenburg, Stellenbosch 7600 South Africa
Our Full Day Horse back wine tour really is one of the best experiences the winelands has to offer. It takes us across 6 of South-Africa's most famous wine estate, including Warwick Estate, Le Bonheur, Arra, Mitres Edge, de Meye and Joostenberg. We ride from our Nursery farm, onto Joostenberg, which is an organic farm. We ride our horses through the vineyards, and across farmland surrounded by tranquility and spectacular views.
From there we cross to De Meye, one of South-Africa's oldest wine farms, with a historic old manor house and tasting room. From there we ride to Muldersvlei, and over Klapmuts Kop.
We have lunch at a lookout with spectacular 360 degree views of Table mountain, False Bay, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek mountains. Lunch consists of a gourmet picnic, stuffed fulll of locally sourced ham, cheese, bread, olives, salad and sweet treats. We also provide water and juice. (Lunch and tastings are included in the price)
After lunch we ride to Arra Wine estate, and then on to Mitre's edge, where guests are invited to join our hosts and tasting some of the estate's wine. Guests can also buy wine and our hosts will arrange for shipping directly to your door back home.
From Mitre's edge we ride along the foot of the hill to Le Bonheur and Warwick estate, before returning
back to the Pink Geranium nursery, stopping at De Meye for another tasting and some refreshments.
Your guide will be a local guide, with vast knowledge of South-African culture, the local area and natural horsemanship.
Our horses are very well trained, and not your usual trail horses who are dull and bored.
We have a mix of Arabs, South-African 'boerperd', Thoroughbreds and Apaloosas, all which are well adjusted to our climate and conditions.
We do not mix groups, so you will get exactly the ride you want, be that a gentle meander or a fast paced canter.
We finish back at the cafe/ Coffeeshop, where you are welcome to enjoy a cold drink on the 'stoep' overlooking our beautiful African garden.
