About this activity
We will begin the day with a short panoramic drive through Sweden’s picturesque capital. If your ship docks at the port of Stadsgården, you will first take a ride through Stockholm’s biggest island, Södermalm. Alternatively, if your ship docks at Frihamnen, we will show you the popular recreational areas of Gärdet and Djurgården. If your ship docks or tenders at Nynäshamn, your day will start with about a 45 minute drive into the ctiy.

Once we arrive at Djurgården, we will guide you through the famous Vasa Museum, a fascinating maritime museum with the world’s best-preserved 17th century warship. The Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and was salvaged in 1961.

We will then continue our tour by driving through scenic Stockholm and make stops at Fjällgatan and Riddarholmen Island. We will drive through affluent Östermalm, along Strandvägen, Stockholm’s most beautiful boulevard with views of hundreds of bobbing boats in the water. As we continue our drive, you will see sights such as the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Raoul Wallenbergs Torg, Kungsträdgården, and Riksdag, as well as The Houses of the Swedish Parliament, The Royal Palace, The Royal Opera.

Once we arrive at Gamla Stan you will get the chance to explore charming, Medieval Old Town up close. We will begin at the Royal Palace and make our way through the streets of the city. We will see Storkyrka, the Finnish Church, and Järnpojk, the tiny 15cm high public sculpture. You will then have the opportunity to stroll around the Old Town independently, and enjoy lunch or a coffee and pastry at your leisure, or do some shopping, before we bring you back to your ship.

Very knowledgeable guide, great city tour and free time to venture on our own a bit. Only wished we would have had an extra hour to venture- Stockholm is beautiful.

Stockholm has such great things to see, and some of them are included on this tour, but unfortunately I didn't care for our guide. Her name was Natasha and she didn't tell us any anecdotal stories to make it interesting like a lot of guides do. She mentioned that she didn't want to fill us up with too many dates and statistics, so much of the time she didn't talk. But she wasn't shy to say that she didn't trust our Russian bus driver, not because she knew him to be untrustworthy, but simply because he was Russian. That was one item she should have kept to herself.

This would be a 5 star experience if we could have had more time. You can spend two days touring Stockholm and it would be worth it. A beautiful city with great sights and restaurants.

This was a great tour, Mona was awesome tour guide. The Vasa Museum was amazing- so interesting. Walking tour of the historic area was informative and interesting architecture. Just wish this tour was longer so we could have explored the water front areas a little more. Stockholm is a beautiful city-- we didn't realize how gorgeous it was and we wish we had a lot more time to explore there, but this was a wonderful overview.
