The wines produced represent the territory, aromatics as Moscato DOCG and Brachetto DOCG; Albarossa a clone created crossing Nebbiolo and Barbera in 1938, Dolcetto di Acqui DOC and Barbera di Asti DOCG The route winds through all stages of production, from the vineyard to the glass and ends with tasting of three representetive wines.
After your 4 wines tasting it's time to proceed towards the cute village of Cartosio ( 25 minutes driving from Strevi ) where you will meet Federica and Massimo MIlano, owners of the historical I Cacciatori Restaurant.
This in not a restaurant, it's a family : Federica is the chef and Massimo, the husband, Massimo is a wonderful host with knowledge of wine parings that are superb.The food is amazing, all local and most vegetables come from their garden. Typical dishes are fried local herbs, Tajerin (hand made pasta), pollo alla cacciatora (Chiken made with tomato and local herbs), coniglio alla ligure (rabbit with black olives and pinuts). You will the taste the most increbile mint panna cotta of your life. During the cold season lunch takes place in an elegant dining room but in summer on a simple terrace, in the shade of a pergola of wild vines.
After be delighted from your pre-set gourmet lunch that includes 4 glasses of local excellent wines you will enjoy a digestive walk in Acqui Terme, a small elegant town famous for hot springs, in fact the present name originates from the Latin one Aquae Statiellae, attributed by the Romans that builted the thermal bath and the acqueduct that still exist. Acqui Terme offer a very nice shopping area with nice wine and delicacies shops and an two efficient thermal baths.
