2 Days 1 Night Bromo & Ijen Extension (Standard)

Day 1: Bromo Sunrise - Banyuwangi

Wake up when it is still dark for a journey to catch the majestic view of sunrise. Mount Bromo provides the backdrop for one of the most stunning sunrise views on earth. Depart from your resort at 04:00hrs in a 4WD jeep and make your way to Penanjakan Viewpoint to witness the awe-inducing Tengger Caldera before your eyes as the night turns into day. Your 4WD vehicle will then take you closer to Mount Bromo. Arrive at the parking area, then from here you can ride a pony to the foot of Mount Bromo. The hike up to the rim of the crater (253-stone steps) is worth the view from the top. Afterwards, your 4WD vehicle drives over Pasir Berbisik, a landscape of volcanic sand that is reminiscent of an arid dessert, then a couple of hundred metres away feel as if you have been transported into yet another different world of savannah. Return to the resort for breakfast and check out afterwards to continue on with your journey towards Banyuwangi in a chauffeured vehicle passing the rural and coastal villages on the northern coast of East Java with a lunch stop at a local restaurant along the way. Arrive in Banyuwangi, you will be transferred directly to a resort that is nestled on the slopes of the mighty Ijen crater in East Java. Check-in and the remainder of the afternoon is at your own leisure.

Overnight at Ketapang Indah Hotel

Day 2: Banyuwangi – Ijen – Ketapang – Gilimanuk – South Bali

Wake up early today for your exciting journey to Ijen Plateau. Lying at 2,799 m above sea level in the center of Ijen – Merapi Malang Reserve, the volcanic complex consists of several stratovolcanoes and cinder cones with a 20-km wide caldera which is the largest in Java. A challenging hike with the pyroclastic flows and lava flows along with the sulfur fumes; the phenomenal Blue Fire can only be spotted at the base of the crater when it is still dark. Pick up at the hotel at the designated time then it is approximately an hour drive on 4WD jeep to Paltuding ranger’s post at the base of the crater. Escorted by our experienced guide, start hiking up carefully for about an hour and a half to the crater rim before descending down for the blue flames. Discover the high risk and challenging working conditions of sulfur miners then make your way back up to the crater rim to witness how the sky color slowly shifts from blue to pink hues of breathtaking sunrise over the milky sulfur lake of Ijen. Transfer back to your hotel for breakfast and to freshen up. Check out at noon then you will be escorted on a drive to Ketapang Harbour to cross the Straits of Bali by ferry. Arrive in Gilimanuk Harbour approximately 30 minutes later, our guide will transfer you directly to your choice of hotel in South Bali for your extension stay or to the airport for your flight to next destination.
