Previously named Oranje Hotel Originally it was built in 1910 by the Sarkies brothers. it served as a headquarters for the Japanese military during the second world war; and it acted as the flashpoint for Indonesia’s battle for independence in 1945, Walk along Pemuda street passing the Governor's Mansion, built in 1795 with huge frontyard and finish at Balai Pemuda, builit in 1907 as a billiard club during Dutch era. The dome resembles the crown of the Queen of Holland.
