About this activity
The Open Water Course is the first level of scuba diving certifications, with the diving license being internationally recognized, allowing you to dive all around the world with no expiry date. The minimum age is 10 years old and there is no other limit apart from being reasonably fit and in good health!
The best way to learn diving is by actually diving, so you shall conduct all your dive training in the sea. This allows you to have up to six dives during your training, as opposed to the standard four. Each afternoon session will take place aboard a pirate ship, the Seacutter, which is the only boat of its type on Koh Tao. While aboard, there will be complimentary tea, coffee, water, biscuits and fruit.
Your course schedule would be as follows;
Day 1 - 16:00 - 18:30 - Course Orientation and video overview of basic diving theory and upcoming skill development sessions.
Day 2 - 08:00 - 10:30 - Classroom session to develop your diving theory and knowledge.
- 11:45 - 16:30 - Shallow water skill development session, in the sea, and at least one dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters.
Day 3 - 08:00 - 11:00 - Classroom session 2.
- 11:45 - 16:00 - Deep water skill development session, in the sea, and at least one more dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters.
Day 4 - 06:00 - 10:30 - 2x Open Water Dives to a maximum depth of 18m and certification!
This tour includes everything needed to conduct the entire course - from equipment rentals to certification costs, and there are no hidden fees!

- Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (ie. asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving. Please consult your doctor
