Evening Samui Adventure Dinner

Samui’s cornucopia of restaurants and cafes offer a broad selection of food and culinary treats wherever you may wander around. Primarily focused along its magnificent beaches, its shopping streets and tugged-away-in-little-corners alleys, a multitude of food options have expanded the culinary options on the island year on year. The words adventure and dining may not spring to mind, but on our travels across the island, we have found something that really fits the description. Perched high above Samui, we have teamed up with a team of local entrepreneurs and food enthusiasts to deliver something truly magical. The road towards this dining venue has raised the bar on transfer from and to your multi-course dinner.

Guests are picked up in the late afternoon by an open-air, 4WD Jeep from your booked accommodation (driver only, no guide). Your joined transfer moves away from the paved roads and street-side alleys and meanders straight into the unpaved side of the island. The road is little known, only by the locals, thus do not expect lots of tourists on the path up into the mountain ranges. Yes, we head through the jungle to one of Samui’s highest vantage points where you are welcomed by a local family who has called this mountain top their home for generations. It becomes quite clear that one requires some stamina when driving uphill in a jeep – the path up to the dining venue for the evening is steep, comes with lots of bumps and turns and navigating this road up requires some skills!

Once you reach the top (600 meters above sea level) and the local restaurant, it becomes quite clear why local residents tend not to move away from this spot – the view from one of Samui’s highest viewpoints is absolutely breathtaking. Even on days when clouds may hinder the sun from fully shine across the region; one has front row seats in seeing Samui’s landscape, its surrounding islands and its fringe of white sand beaches down below. As you allow letting the view sink in, the kitchen team fires up the BBQ, sets up a buffet and welcomes you to the table for dining the evening away with a spectacular view that is hard to match anywhere else in Samui. A selection of Thai dishes, all fresh from local markets, is there for you to try out and all served with a stunning sunset. After dinner, it is time to thank the team for their outstanding cooking before making the way back via the same road to the foothill and your Samui resort for the night.
