Day 1: Arrival in Suzhou
When you arrive in Suzhou, make your own way to your accommodation and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

After breakfast, your guide picks you up at your hotel to visit the Humble Administrator's Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most famous gardens in Suzhou. Built in 1510, the garden features pavilions and bridges situated among a maze of connected ponds and islets.
Next, browse the collection of ancient Chinese arts at the Suzhou Museum, designed by the internationally renowned architect I.M. Pei. Have lunch at a local Chinese restaurant that features the squirrel-shaped mandarin fish, a famous dish.
In the afternoon, continue to Shantang Street, the first street in Suzhou. Take a boat ride along the canal to Tiger Hill, known for its natural beauty and historical sites. Have a delicious dinner on Pingjiang Road and watch an elegant Kunqu Opera performance. Go early to observe the actors as they put on their elaborate makeup. After the show, stroll along Pingjiang Road to see small canals, shops, and typical Suzhou-style architecture.

Your guide takes you to visit Lingering Garden, one of the four most famous gardens in China. The garden covers an area of 46,477 square feet (23,310 square meters) and is divided into four sections with distinct themes: East, Central, West, and North. Pavilions — a primary feature of any Chinese garden — occupy one third of the Lingering Garden.
Next, visit the Embroidery Institute and learn about 'Su' embroidery, one of the oldest embroidery techniques in the world, which dates back more than 2,000 years. Have a Suzhou–style noodle lunch, then stop into a silk factory to learn about silk production. Have the option to go to a nighttime show in Net Master Garden (additional cost) to watch Suzhou folk dance and music performances.
