Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Humble Administrator's Garden, No.178 Northeast Road, Pingjiang District, Suzhou 215001 China

Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel in Shanghai city centre, and your driver will transfer you for almost 2 hours to Suzhou.

Suzhou is also called the Venice of the East and China’s garden city. It is renown for its waterside architecture, with many areas still preserving the network of canals and waterways that used to crisscross the city. However, Suzhou’s greatest claim to fame, more so than its canals, is its classical gardens. These splendid gardens date back to the Ming dynasty and have since been regarded as paragons of Chinese classical garden design.

During this tour you will visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the largest and most well known of Suzhou’s famous gardens. Its unique design, ethereal beauty, and enduring cultural significance have seen it proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Then you will follow your guide to visit the Silk factory to see the process of making silk products and you will have a traditional Chinese cuisine lunch in a local restaurant.

Duration: 5 hours

Stop At: Zhouzhuang Water Town, Qing Ping Shanghai Highway, Kunshan 215300 China

The tour will continue visiting Zhouzhuang Water Town, where you will board a Chinese-style gondola to cruise the town's beautiful waterways. Zhouzhuang's simple, well-preserved architecture dates back more than 900 years. The majority of residences were built in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and nearly 100 classic courtyards and 60 carved-brick archways are still in use. In this water village, locals live their life on the waterways, continuing to carry out everyday activities on the water, from washing clothes to shopping from vendors in boats.

After this, you will be transferred back to your hotel at Shanghai city centre

Duration: 3 hours

We had a wonderful day with Elva! The car was clean and comfortable, the driver was pleasant, the attractions were beautiful and a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai, but most of all, our tour guide was knowledgeable, sweet and made for a very pleasant tour! Thank you Elva!

This tour was nice. The tour guide have a good english. The garden at Suzhou was beautiful but my favorite was Zhouzhuang, a water town like Venice and Bruges. Transportation was comfortable, they gave me a bottle of water and the lunch was good. They adjust your schedule and needs, I recommend spend time to buy chinese art at Zhouzhuang. Just be prepare to 1.5h from Shanghai to Suzhou, then 1h from Suzhou to Zhouzhuang and 2 h from Zhouzhuang to Shanghai.

Very good tour. Suzhou is great to navigate the canals or just walk about in the tourist area of this city with such a long history. I suppose it is a must to see a silk factory and you will be tempted to even buy something. Zhouzhuang is smaller and a bit out by itself or so it seems to be. But it is a nice complement and it gives you a better feel for life in a small town, now and then. Our guide Gale spoke good English and knew her stuff.

The weather was too hot, in the middle of August, I don't recommend this trip during summer months, so maybe this would be a 3 star because the uncomfortable of hot weather 42 C!. However, it was interesting to visit those water towns and there was lots to see and learn. The restaurant the guide took us, set mea for this tour, had very good food and service, casual but good. The guide was friendly, but his English was not so good, he spoke German as his second language, and didn't understand some words in English, but overall he knew quite a lot about history and economy of his country and all our questions were answered
