Inspector Montalbano Locations Tour

Our destination today is the southern part of the Island in surch of the undiscovered part of Sicily where the inspector was created about 15 years ago by the Sicilian author Andrea Camilleri.

In the morning visit of Punta Secca, one of a string of pleasant seaside resorts south-east of Scoglitti, where the inspector’s seaside house has become a place of pilgrimage for Montalbano fans. You can even stay here: bowing perhaps to the inevitable, the owners have turned the beachside villa into the friendly but fairly basic b&b Casa di Montalbano.

We will continue to Scicli, one of the richest towns in the history of the province Iblea. We will walk through the town center with its interesting buildings of the eighteenth century: the church of S. Ignatius in Baroque style, the church of St. Bartholomew, and the Palace Beneventano.Via Mormino Penna came just to be part of the assets protected by UNESCO. Lunch free.

In the afternoon, we will continue to Ragusa Ibla. We will start from the upper town and then go through the steps of Santa Maria delle Scale, rich Sicilian Baroque, declared World Heritage Site by Unesco. Among the churches and palaces there are certainly worthy of attention of the Church of Souls in Purgatory, Cosentini Palace, the Church of Santa Maria dell'Itria, The Rock Palace, the Church of St. George, the Conversation Club, the Church of St. Joseph, St. George Portal.
