Half-day Taipei City Tour

Aside from its skyscrapers and modern lifestyle, the city of Taipei also offers many historical sites to its visitors. Enjoy a three-hour guided tour, and learn about Taiwan's rich history and culture. You will explore the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, which is built from white marble and has deep blue glass decorations on its roof that reflect the sky. At the Memorial Hall, you will have the opportunity to visit the National Concert Hall and National Theatre. Outside the buildings, you can wander in the garden full of red flowers.

Another historical place to explore is the Presidential Office Building. This Renaissance-style building has been the highest seat of government in Taiwan for over a century, first as the office of the governor general's office during the Japanese colonial period, and after 1949 as Taiwan's "White House." National festivals are hosted here.

Your next stop will be at the National Palace Museum, which hosts the world's largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art and artefacts dating back to more than 7,000 years. Discover calligraphy, historic paintings, jade, bronze, precious silk, and more than 650,000 curio pieces. Resting on the slopes of the Qing Mountain, you will find the ancient Martyr's Shrine.

From there, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Keelung River. Appreciate the shrine's impressive architectural style, which took inspiration from the Taihe Dian Imperial Palace in Beijing. Lastly, you will visit the Handicraft Centre, and have the opportunity to shop for local crafts and souvenirs.
