The most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area.

Once the tallest skyscraper in the world(2004-2010)! Taipei 101 is an engineering marvel and the first building of its kind in the world. Spanning 101 stories above the ground at 508 metres, the building was designed as a symbol of technology's evolution fused with Asian tradition. The building features many pan-Chinese and Asian elements mixed with a postmodern style, and is designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes common in Taiwan.

Originally constructed in 1742 as a wooden shrine, the Bao'an Temple is a Taiwanese folk religion temple. Throughout Taiwan's history, the temple was renovated and reconstructed numerous times, leading to a 2003 induction into UNESCO for cultural heritage conservation.

Stop At: Martyr's shrine, No.278 Xin'er Road, Jilong City, Keelung 200 Taiwan
Built in 1969, the complex contains the main shrine, as well as the famous guard changing ceremony. Most visitors will leave the area as soon as the guard changing is complete, but be sure to walk inside and explore the fascinating and beautiful Chinese architecture.

Lawson was an excellent guide who provided us our 4 hr. tour of Taipei. Wish we could have stayed longer in Taipei and absorb more of their culture, but the 4 places we went Lawson provided us information on where to take the best photos. I would recommend this private customized tour.
Outstanding work. Saw many nice things in a limited time. Was able to answer every question my kids threw at him. An absolute steal for the price. Hope the next time I can have Eddie be our guide.
