4-Hour Bike and Food Tasting Tour of Tallinn

3 h
About this activity
Make your own way to the tour operator's office in Tallinn's Old Town by 1pm. Meet your guide, pick out your bicycle, and start pedaling.

Along the route — as your guide takes you between different eateries — learn about the interesting history of Estonian cuisine. Just like wider Estonian culture, the local palate has been influenced by the country's neighbors and so you find traces of Scandinavian, Russian, and German cuisines.

Along the way, see Tallinn's best sights, including Kalamaja, known for its wooden architecture, restaurant-cafés, and bohemian atmosphere; the Volta quarter with its Soviet heritage, the Seaplain harbor, and Patarei Prison. Visit some hidden corners off the beaten path and stop in a variety of places to sample Estonian specialties. Please note: drinks will need to be purchased separately.

With a full belly, your tour concludes back at the original departure point at about 5pm.

Tour guide Thomas pleasant, knowledgeable and full of information regarding history past and present. He explained the food and it's importance to Estonian people. Large portions and yummy. Bicycles in good condition. Safety conscious. We were a party of 2 and were fortunate to experience parts of Tallinn that tourists normally would miss. If you're open minded and wanting to learn, this is a great opportunity to experience unique parts of Tallinn .

I feel terrible it's been two weeks since we did this and I'm just now getting around to giving it the accolades it deserves. It was pouring rain when we docked our ferry from Helsinki that morning. We were miserable. My companion was giving me the stink eye for having planned this tour. A few hours later, the rain had slackened and we made our way to the tour office. We were given rain coats and Christian our guide and just us two started out of old town. From then on, the tour was amazing. We saw so much of Tallinn we would've never seen otherwise. It was easy to bike this city even as novices and the rich history and excellent culinary accommodations made this trip spectacular. Late that evening, we took our ferry back to Helsinki feeling that we had sincerely made the most of our day in Tallinn. Flying back a week later to the states, I asked my travel companion her favorite part of the past 8 days and without a beat, she said the bike tour in Tallinn. I was redeemed.

An excellent tour. An easy ride through Tallinn with a local guide that was friendly and knowledgeable of Tallinn and its history. We stopped along the way for light food and drink some great beer!. I'd recommend this to anyone that wants to get outside of old town Tallinn and see what else is happening in town.

This was the BEST tour we've taken with Viator! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tallin. We booked it as a private tour so we could move it up earlier so we didn't miss our ship we were on a cruise. Mari and Thomas were our guides, and they were awesome! It rained most of the time, but we made it a fun experience. They took us to 3 cool restaurants to sample the local cuisine. Then we biked into Old Town and spent about an hour there. My boys, 15 and 12, said this was a highlight of their vacation!
