Stop At: Tamarindo Beach, Tamarindo Costa Rica
Meeting outside of El Chiringuito Restaurant at 12:45pm, Tamarindo's Antares Schooner Sailing Ship sets sail from Tamarindo beach Costa Rica, weather permitting. You will be transferred to the boat on a dingy from the restaurant. When boarding the boat you can settle in a comfortable large bean bag chair that aligns with the sides of the boat.
As the boat begins to set sail, you will enjoy 6 gourmet courses prepared fresh from the on board Chef. Open Bar is available throughout the cruise (beer, wine, cocktails). Head for Playa Huevo, and upon arrival, you can go snorkeling, swimming, go to the beach, or just relax on the boat. The food courses are as much organic produce as possible and also add a variety of known as superfoods.
Accommodating vegetarians or people with food intolerences is not a problem and will need to be advised at the time of booking. The Chef typically prepares a tofu salad, veggie ceviche, a salmon plate and a curry soup with veggies, coconut milk, ginger and secret spices.
While the boat anchors for an hour, you will have the option to snorkel, swim or paddleboard. All equipment is included. Then you will set sail for Playa Tamarindo, enjoying the amazing sunset and arrive back on the beach just before dark, around 6:00pm

Highly recommend this as an option for a boating trip. The crew is very friendly and serve a delicious selection of food. They are not stingy with the open bar. We went with our family which included young kids and it was great for them. There are not too many people on the boat and the atmosphere is pretty chill. They had someone playing the guitar and singing live music in the background and she had an very relaxing voice. There is not much to see when you go snorkelling, so if that is what you are looking for, this trip is not for you. They have plenty of life jackets, flippers and noodles to use in the water. Toward the end of the ride, they stop the boat and you enjoy an incredible sunset.
The cruise was very enjoyable. The crew/serving staff were friendly and extremely attentive. The food was excellent. The portions were small but spread out well and you did not stuff yourself. The boat's operators made you feel like you were guests in their home and not just paying customers.
This was the most amazing trip, and I think the highlight of my week in Tamarindo! The welcoming atmosphere, the charming staff, the food, drinks, live music, and the comfy beanbags all made for the most relaxing outing. I loved jumping of the side of this beautiful schooner into the ocean, and swimming to shore - so romantic, right!? We even got lucky and saw a double rainbow! There were many families and couples on the cruise, and even though I was traveling alone, I felt a part of the group and camaraderie. Captain Hermes and his wife, and chef, Candy, made certain to consider my life-threatening food allergies, made certain that my food was safe. Candy even made me a separate dish for one of the courses. Next summer I want to do their full moon cruise!
The trip was wonderful. Magical crew that is committed to making everyone have a time. Food and drinks were fantastic.
