Itinerary

Day 1: Tangier –> Chefchaouen

Stop At: Chefchaouen Medina, Chefchaouen Morocco
Pick-up at your Hotel or Riad in Tangier Drive to Chefchaouen, known as “The Blue City of Morocco”, which is also the main city in the Rif Mountain Region. Arrive in Chefchaouen in the afternoon and check in to your Hotel or Riad. Explore Chefchaouen, a beautiful unique city, with blue and whitewashed buildings perched on the mountain side at your leisure and the opportunity to meet locals as you stroll around the beautiful Medina. Chefchaouen was occupied by Spain, so there is a lot of Spanish influence in its architecture. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad in Chefchaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen –> Midelt

Stop At: Fez Mellah, Fes Morocco
Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad and continue your tour via Fez, the Imperial City of Morocco. Drive to Fez via the Ziz Valley and Azrou and enjoy the fascinating landscape along the Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi n’ Talghamt Pass to Midelt. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad in Midelt.

Day 3: Midelt –> Ziz Valley –> Merzouga

Stop At: Souqs of Rissani, Rissani Morocco
Breakfast at your Hotel or Riad and then continue your tour to Merzouga via Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. Drive through the Berber villages to Erfoud, and then Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad in Merzouga.

Day 4: Explore Merzouga

Stop At: Merzouga Desert, Merzouga Morocco
Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Visit the Gnawa (Gnaoua) people, originally slaves brought from West Africa and experience their music and lifestyles. See the lake of Merzouga with its bird populations and visit the souk in Rissani. Guided camel ride to explore the sand sea of Merzouga. Overnight at desert camp where you will have your dinner.

Day 5: Merzouga –> Ziz Valley –> Midelt –> Azrou –> Fez

Stop At: Douar Azrou, Morocco
Early in the morning, wake up to watch the most beautiful sunrise. Camel trek back to the village of Merzouga over the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Drive to Fez via the Ziz Valley and Azrou and enjoy the fascinating landscape along the Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi n’ Talghamt Pass to Midelt. Visit Cedar Forest on the Middle Atlas Mountains where you will see the Barbarian apes in the wild. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad in Fez.

Day 6: Fez –> Tangier

Stop At: Tangier Beach, Tangier Morocco
