Full Day Trip, Asilah & Tangier

08H30, Meet by your knowledgeable Guide and driver, then taken in an air-conditionning vehicle for a panoramic drive through various areas of the city. Drive along the main street which is the French quarter of the town. The Spanish quarter, the American quarter called small California. We pass the horse riding school, the oldest Golf course in Africa, the Christian cemetery, a place to play cricket, a cats & dogs cemetery. Another drive up the mountain with seven Palaces: Government Palace, the Palace of the king of Morocco and the Palace of king of Saoudia Arabia. Cap Spartel light house, the place where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. A drive along the Atlantic coast where you can ride the camels, before head to the Hercules caves site for visit and plenty of photo opportunities there. According to the Greek mythology, the Hercules rested here after digging the Strait of Gibraltar. Continue the drive towards Asilah City, you will leave the Vehicle upon the arrival and continue on a walk to the medina, with its well-maintained medieval ramparts, restored town houses and craftsmen’s’ workshops. Asilah is well known in Morocco for its annual august Arts Festival, and the walls of the medina are adorned year round with murals from the previous year. A more permanent collection of painting and sculpture is on display at the center de Hassan II Rencontres Internationales. You will be given time at leisure to walk around the town and for a coffee break.Then get to the vehicle and drive back to the historical Kasbah of Tangier, Medina & Markets. Your local guide will take you on a walking and help you to discover the old medina of Tangier, which will give you a good feel for life in the city- both past and present – days. We will pass by the magnificent mosaic studded minaret overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the Grand Socco, and the Mendoubia Park there. Visit the fruit & vegetable markets where you will be given the chance to assist with buying (optional) the conserved olives ‘’green/Black’’, cheese and homemade bread from the local merchants before joining the local Moroccan restaurant for lunch (at leisure). After the meal, continue the visit of the old medina with its craftsmanship and narrower streets, visit the Jewish Quarter & Synagogue, the American legation and the Jewish Graveyard, before ending the walk in the Petit Socco, famous with its multitude of small hotels which previously accommodated famous artists and writers such as Matisse, Camille Saint Seans, Paul Bowles… free time (20 to 30 mins). Then re-board the vehicle at the medina‘s Marine gate and return to the port to Catch the ferry back home or drop off Tangier Hotel.
