Learn to Cook Moroccan Couscous
The teacher will meet you at our cooking studio or nearby at the Grand Soco fountain. Once inside our air-conditioned studio you'll meet your teacher and learn how to prepare Moroccan tea. Then you'll sit and sip while you talk with your host about the traditions behind this drink. Next you and your teacher will prepare traditional Moroccan bread and learn the significance that bread plays in Moroccan society, then you'll place your bread on a tray and head to the "Fouran" or community oven where the entire neighborhood bakes bread together. Inside you'll begin baking the bread and take time to learn about the Fouran and it's place in the community. While your bread bakes, you'll have the chance to walk through the local market as your guide explains the delicious natural produce you'll find there. Finally, together with you teacher, you'll cook a traditional Moroccan couscous and then sit down at the table with your teacher to enjoy it along with your fresh bread and tea.
