About this activity
Your personal tour leader will pick you up at your hotel/port and you will start your wonderful private travel (from 2 people) around top Etna wineries. Driving by comfortable, air-conditioned car through the small authentic mountain villages, you will admire unforgettable picturesque views of Sicilian countryside full of oranges and lemon plantations, olives and almond trees, houses and churches built of lava stone. The Etna Volcano erupting feeds the soil, and that is why this region is considered to be one of the best in the world for growing grapes and wine production. You will visit the three best wineries at Etna slopes. Wines from these wineries are on the top lists of premium international wine associations.

The first venue will be a family run winery, world famous with its outstanding wines. Here you will be welcomed by the owner with a glass of an awesome aperitif white wine. Sipping refreshing wine, you will have a guided tour around the estate, after which you will visit the cellars where the owner or your private sommelier will explain you the wine production process. Finally, you will sit at a wonderful terrace with a breathtaking view of mountains and Ionian coastline, and with your personal sommelier start food and wine tasting. You will taste 4 or 5 excellent white, red and rose Etna DOC wines with locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, sausages, cous-cous, vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, mushrooms, domestic olive oil and fresh home-made bread.

Enjoying the panoramic view and unique atmosphere of Sicilian countryside, you will drive to the second venue – another outstanding Etna winery, where the owner will make for you a tour around the estate, and with a professional sommelier you will taste 4 brilliant red, rose and white wine of the region.

You will continue the tour driving to the next venue, an ancient family run winery with an authentic charm. After the guided visit to the cellars, you will taste 3 premium red and white wines accompanied by fresh domestic appetizers: locally produced cheeses, meat delicacies, olives, olive oil and fresh bread. After the tour, your personal guide will bring you back to your accommodation.

Roberto was one of the best guides we have ever had and we have been on a dozen wine tours throughout Europe! The company was very responsive despite us needing to make changes last minute, I can’t speak more highly of them. And now the wines... wow, what a perfect selection of three unique wineries. Each one had a food pairing and they had no problems letting you revisit as many tastings as you like. We met the owners at each property (very lucky) and they were all extremely nice and accommodating. This was a perfect tour and worth every penny. And again I can’t speak more nightly of our guide, Roberto, very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does!

Thanks to our guide, Jean Luigi, we have seen some of the best wineries around Etna. We had the chance to see the vines, were the wine is made, and learn about the history of the region ad of the deliciuos wines. And doing this acompanied by the ownwers, that showed us how much they care for the wine. The tastings are amazing, local wines and local products. It was a very delicius wine tasting day for us. Thank you all that recieved us, and many thanks again to Jean Luigi. I highly recomend this acitivity for wine lovers!

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous day touring three wineries — Murgo, Scilio, and Gambino — with Roberto as our fabulous guide. The wine tastings and food offerings were wonderful. Do not hesitate to book this tour with Roberto through the beautiful foothills of Etna wine country.!

We were a group of six and had our own private tour guide for all three wineries. The three wineries we visited were absolutely stunning with excellent tastings and food pairings. The best part of our tour though was our tour guide, Roberto. He was so passionate about giving us the best experience and he 100% accomplished this. Thanks again Roberto!

Scilio Vineyard was so picturesque. Guido accompanied us through the Vineyard and his knowledge of the winery was incredible also with his explanation of all the wines we tasted, Scilio had to be my favorite. Gambino winery was robust from the people who worked their to the many wines we so enjoyed tasting and the vineyard was breathtaking. Just a little disappointed with Don Sardo, due to lack of information of the different wines and no tour of the vineyard offered, although the food served was very good.

The tour was fantastic! The day began with a phone call from our guide Angelo confirming the pick up time in front of our B and B. We stepped out of our door and were greeted within a minute. Angelo was fantastic! His knowledge of the area and suggestions for other family activities was tremendous. He made us feel at home and it was like spending the day with a family friend. The three wineries we visited each had their own special character. We enjoyed all three and found something for our pallet at all three. We loved our tour and left totally satisfied. One extra touch was a follow up telephone call from Angelo checking in on us to see if there was anything else he could do, more information or directions. He was absolutely great!

This tour, while expensive, is WELL worth the money. It was one of the highlights of our 10 days in Sicily. We were lucky to have the very professional Marco who also led our private Godfather tour. It includes 3 wineries with copious amounts of tastings, food and a tour of the cellar at each winery. Don't make the mistake of having breakfast because the food on offer is copious. Gambino Winery was elegant and we now will start to directly import their wines to our home in the UK, especially their light and fruity white as well as the Nero. They ship for free if you spend over 60Euros easy to do. We were lucky to have Guido give us the tour and tasting at Scilio. The tour was superb, with Guido being very informative and impressively professional and intelligent. We quite enjoyed hearing about Scilio's use of plants for nitrogen and reciprocal local sheep utilization. Lastly, Don Saro has a small family vibe and we really enjoyed this visit and their wines. All in all, if you want something extra special, book this tour. It doesn't disappoint.
