About this activity
The adventure starts with a pick-up by jeep from your accommodation in the municipalities of Taormina, Giardini Naxos or Catania. You will head towards Sapienza Refuge, the southern slopes of the Etna. From here you will hike for about 1 hour to get to the old lava hole of the Bove Valley, a vast valley located at the eastern slopes of the volcano.
You will then continue visiting an ancient lava cave, once used as a sacred place and sepolture.
Lunch: you will have a break in a historical Cafè, where you will be offered a light lunch, including Sicilian pizza or a pasta dish, paired with water and wine/beer.
Pick-up: from the municipalities of Taormina, Giardini Naxos or Catania. Each jeep can accommodate up to 6 people.
Duration: about 6 hours. Pick-up starts at 8:30/9:00 am. Drop off is at 3:00 pm.
