Small-Group Tour: Etna Wine and Alcantara from Taormina

Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Taormina, the surrounding area or another place agreed beforehand, in a jeep or minivan. Groups are small and consist of maximum eight people.
First stop
You will explore the volcanic part through a leisurely trek (about 2.5 hours) walking through deserts of ash and lava. Hiking through ancient woods and along lava covered paths, you will explore and admire extinct craters and lava flows and learn about Etna its vegetation and its history.
Second Stop
Equipped with helmets and torches you will visit the volcanic underground, discovering one of the fascinating lava caves of Mt. Etna.
Lunch Break
You will enjoy a wine and gastronomic tasting provided by our Tour Operator. The lunch consits of appetizers, pasta and desert and you will taste wines of the Etna region.
Third Stop
You will visit the Alcantara Gorges; thousand of years ago, thick lava flowed into the Alcantara river. Walking through the shallow river,
surrounded by high basaltic walls, you will marvel at Mother Nature’s geometrical phenomena.
Excursions starts at around 8:30am and the return is expected to be at about 6.30 pm.
Side: Etna North
The excursion is perfect for people of all ages and for all those who enjoy a good state of health. Depending on weather conditions, the guide can make changes to the itinerary mentioned above.
