Shore Excursion: Rotorua's Polynesian Spa Heaven from Tauranga

1 day
About this activity

Your scenic drive from the Port of Tauranga takes you from Mount Maunganui through the beautiful New Zealand countryside to arrive at the Polynesian Spa, Rotorua – New Zealand’s leading internationally acclaimed thermal spa, offering relaxing hot mineral spring bathing, sumptuous spa therapies and picturesque Lake Rotorua views.

Polynesian Spa is New Zealand’s leading internationally acclaimed thermal spa. Enjoy this unique, private, lakefront thermal spa experience – offering a wonderful fusion of relaxing hot mineral spring bathing and picturesque views of Lake Rotorua. Perhaps indulge in an enticing array of sumptuous spa therapies at the inviting haven of the Lake Spa Retreat (appointments are essential so please advise at the time of booking).

There are four shallow alkaline rock pools, each with different temperatures ranging from 36°C to 42°C. These pools are filled with soothing alkaline mineral water leaving your skin soft and supple. Relax in the new outdoor relaxation area overlooking the four pools and Lake Rotorua. Guests can further unwind on the geothermally heated recliners with a stunning backdrop of New Zealand’s lush and natural greenery.

Enjoy lunch at the Polynesian Spa (this is not included in the cost) before re-boarding your vehicle and travelling into Rotorua to see the main sights of this geothermal city – including the famous Government Gardens, Blue Baths (a historic bath house), Rachel Spring (a boiling hot pool reaching temperatures of up to 100deg C), lakefront and scenic sights.

Your journey draws to a close stopping to view the spectacular Okere Falls and a scenic drive viewing the local highlights, pristine coastline, kiwifruit orchards and more. We will have you arriving at the Port of Tauranga passenger gate at least an hour prior to your ship sailing time.
