5-Days Hiking Tour in Georgia - Small Group Tour

Day 1 – Tbilisi-Ananuri- Gudauri –Gveleti Waterfalls-Kazbegi

This day covers one of the most scenic and stunning sections of the Great Caucasus Mountains. Kazbegi area is a mountains region of Georgia surrounded by narrow gorges and unspoiled mountains. We travel along the famous military highway, and explore 16-17cc Ananuri Castle Complex. Then we drive to Gudauri and stop there for breathtaking panorama views. If You wish, you can try here paragliding in the narrow mountainous gorges. After Gudauri, we cross Jvari pass and go to Kazbegi area. Our first small hiking trip covers Gveleti Waterfalls. Easy walk, short distance and good views are ideal start for your hiking trip in Georgia.

Day 2– Kazbegi-Gergeti Trinity Church-Gergeti Glacier-Kazbegi

The hardest but probably the most beautiful part of your trip in Georgia is for this day. Our final destination is Gergeti Glacier (at 3200m), Its width is 6 km², length- 8.92 km. This day offers you a glistening mountain landscape with colliding glaciers, lush alpine meadows, roaring rivers and marvelous panorama views over the Great Caucasus Mountains.

 Day 3 – Kazbegi-Juta-Chaukhi Massif - Gudauri

This day we explore the scenic beauty and majestic charm of the Juta valley and Chaukhi mountainous massif. We hike deep into the Greater Caucasus Mountains through crossing small mountainous rivers, hills and rocks. After 8 km of hiking, we reach Chaukhi pass (3338m.) from where fascinating views opens for you. You can enjoy with panoramic views of another mountainous region – Khevsureti.

 Day 4 – Gudauri –Khada Gorge-Borjomi

Today our journey takes us to many fascinating areas. We take in stunning views of the remote Khada gorge. We will travel to Khada gorge in the morning and view remote villages, watch towers and a picturesque mountainous gorge. Khada gorge is also known as the “Gorge of 60 Towers”. Late afternoon drive for Borjomi tow for overnight stay.

 Day 5 – Borjomi-Kvabiskhevi-Tbilisi

Visit Borjomi National Park, one of Georgia’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty. The hiking trail starts in the Likani village where visitors come across rare species of yew, included in the Red List; Yew has the longest life among the European trees. We come across 800-1000 years-old yew trees. After 2 km you will meet the national park map (930 above sea level) where the serpentine path goes along a mountain slope. The trail is relatively hard. The descent continues for 40 min followed by the beautiful scenery of the Kvabiskhevi valley. The Kvabiskhevi valley is very beautiful in any season, and is distinguished by its biodiversity. Late afternoon, we will arrive in Kvabiskhevi village, from where we will depart for Tbilisi.
